Yesterday was a beautiful day and we took a ride to Bismarck. This is the immense sky over the prairie. Absolutely breathtaking.
Of course, we had ulterior motives, ie. Famous Dave's. It has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants up north.
As we left Minot heading south, the snow is mostly gone with the exception of shady areas and deep pockets of snow.
In some areas the grass is just beginning to turn green and some of the farmers are starting to move their equipment in preparation for spring planting.
We pass several groups of wind turbines heading south and none of them were turning. We have never seen all of them not working.
This is a very unusual sight in North Dakota, smoke blowing straight up because the wind is so mild.
This is the large lake that runs east-west across most of North Dakota, Lake Sakakawea. The surface of the lake is still covered with ice, but the edges are starting to thaw.
We visited the Capital Complex but the museum was closed so we missed the big exhibits. We did a little shopping and had lunch at Famous Dave's, did a bit more shopping and headed back to Minot.
The weather was fantastic, the food great and the company excellent, my hubby.
One more day in Minot and we head to our new work assignment in Superior, WI.
