The Rodeo

The night we visited the state fair the rodeo was in town and we decided to attend.  We hadn't been to a rodeo in over 20 years and thought it would be fun.  We were not disappointed.

and sometimes the cows win.

We had to leave before the end of the rodeo (work the next day) but it was still fun.

Sunday Phunnies

I never knew what an engineer did for a living when I was a kid. I still don’t.

I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.

A woman drove me to drink – and I hadn’t even the courtesy to thank her.

My mother’s menu consisted of two choices: Take it or leave it.

That woman speaks eighteen languages, and can’t say No in any of them.

How do you feel about women’s rights? I like either side of them.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Women will forgive anything. Otherwise, the race would have died out long ago.

North Dakota State Fair

We had never been to a state fair so we took this opportunity to visit the North Dakota Fair.  We went one evening after work, so we only had a couple hours, but the weather was great and the crowd was small and we had a fun time.

There were all sorts of activities and displays.  Farm animals of all sorts.

4-H Clubs from across the state displayed their wares.

Displays for children.

and, of course, all the huge farm equipment you can possibly want.

We have heard of fairs in other states that were so crowded you really could not enjoy yourself but the ND fair is so very different.  The fairgrounds cover a large area of land, there are not as many people and the weather is fantastic.  If you are ever in the area, I recommend a visit to the State Fair in ND.
