We headed to South Dakota down Highway 85 and came across this beautiful site.
The sunflowers near Minot were already starting to die but these were still beautiful.
A few years ago we tried to grow sunflowers (not this many, of course) and did not have much success, so my farmer guy had to get his photo next to this field.
South Dakota, at last!
And the road stretched on.
We finally arrived in Keystone right near Mount Rushmore, which was our next stop.
Keystone is a small tourist town with lots of neat shops and attractions. We were able to pick up several gifts to send home.
The next day we headed home. Long drive, long day, and we were sure glad to finally arrive in Minot. It was a jam packed weekend but we sure had fun.
