Painted Canyon

Traveling from Medora to Dickinson, ND we saw a sign for the Painted Canyon and decided to stop.  I sure am glad we did, it was gorgeous.

These photos almost look fake, but I promise we took these ourself.


The colors don't show up much in the photos but the top of these buttes are red, almost like the clay in Georgia.



This is a fantastic example of the variety of topography in the badlands.





I am not sure how far you can see but it sure looks like you could see all the way to Montana.




We really enjoyed this stop on our trip and the fantastic scenery.  Hope you enjoyed!
