Aprons, Aprons

Everytime I put on an apron it reminds me of old-time tv like 'Leave It To Beaver' or 'Father Knows Best'.  I love to search for patterns that bring back the styles from these old shows.

I found a pattern with the large ruffles over the shoulders, gathers attaching the bodice to the waistband and shaped pockets trimmed with lace.  The I found the most beautiful dark blue flowered fabric and this apron was born.

The waistband is bordered by gathers on both sides-the bodice on the top and the skirt on the bottom.

Sometimes a fabric lends itself to a particular design.  This fabric spoke to me and said fun and spunky.

Then I found this pattern with a flounce around the bottom, 2 tiny little straps at the top and a full bow in the back, and I knew they went together.
This apron is my best seller.  It is completely reversible-gingham check on one side and solid on the other.

The apron slips over the head and ties on both sides at the waist.  There is a pocket all across the bottom front on each side.

I am still working on a couple more aprons like the reversible one.  Coming soon is a lavender and teal made using the same design.

Aprons make a great gift and I am looking forward to these being a good seller this year.
